Avon closing in on $10 billion

Avon has long since passed Amway as the world’s larget direct seller. In 2007 the growth continued and Avon is now near $10 billion in annual sales that is generated by its 5.4 million independent sales representatives.

Totalt 2007 revenue grew 13 percent to a record $9.9 billion as compared with $8.8 billion in 2006.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with what we’ve accomplished and where we are going forward,” Avon Chairman and CEO Andrea Jung told Direct Selling News.

Avon’s 2007 fourth-quarter total revenue were particularly strong and grew 17 percent  to $3.1 billion. Sales of beauty products rose 20 percent, and active representatives increased 11 percent.
